Our Olive Oils

The excellence of the Alentejo region and the passion of the Castelo Branco family, descendants of a family with a long agricultural tradition, have built a harmony between tradition and modernity in the production of olive oils at Herdade Paço do Conde.

The olive groves and the manufacture of olive oil date back to ancient times as attested by the ceramic remains, walls, irrigation ditches and old irrigation tanks discovered on the Estate. The excellent Oleic Tradition is revived.
The plantation of approximately 1900 hectares of Olive trees using drip irrigation started back in 1998.
The varieties chosen were:
Galega, Cobrançosa, Frantoio, Arbequina and Picual.
The demand for high quality motivated the introduction of the mentioned varieties. The poor precocity and productivity of some of the varieties is compensated by the superior quality obtained.
The production of Herdade Paço do Conde olive oils has been carried out since 2007 in its own facilities. Equipped with advanced technology, it has the capacity to process 700 tons/day.
