Our Olive Oils
The excellence of the Alentejo region and the passion of the Castelo Branco family, descendants of a family with a long agricultural tradition, have built a harmony between tradition and modernity in the production of olive oils at Herdade Paço do Conde.
Olive growing and olive oil production date back to ancient times, as evidenced by the ceramic remains, walls, irrigation channels, and old watering tanks discovered on the estate. The tradition of excellence in olive oil production is revived.
In 1998, the planting of approximately 2,100 hectares of Olival Paço do Conde began, using drip irrigation.
The selected olive varieties were:
Cobrançosa, Picual, Arbequina, Arbosana, Lecciana, I-15, and Frantoio.
The pursuit of high quality led to the introduction of these varieties. The lower precocity and productivity of some varieties are offset by the superior quality achieved.
The production of Herdade Paço do Conde olive oils has taken place since 2007 in its own facilities. Equipped with advanced technology, they have the capacity to process 1,000 tonnes per day.
